Dr. Jerry Hizon, MD

Jerry Hizon, MD, specializes in family practice and sports medicine. After receiving his undergraduate degree in biology from Loyola Marymount University, Dr. Hizon attended medical school at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and served as chief resident in family medicine at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. 

 

Dr. Hizon decided to specialize in Sports Medicine with the Certificate of Added Qualification through the American Board Family Practice. He served as the medical team physician for the San Diego Chargers for 13 years. In 2003, he was the sideline physician for the Superbowl and, in 2010, he worked as the medical team physician for the NFL Pro Bowl. In 2009, Dr. Hizon was recognized as the top sports medicine provider by the San Diego Sports Medicine Foundation. 

 

As a sports physician, Dr. Hizon is proud to serve his community as well as his private practice patients. In 2015, he was awarded the Distinguished Citizen of the Year Recognition by the City of Temecula, California. In 2021, he successfully completed the RCMA Population Health Management Academy and was awarded Medical Director by the California Clinical Partners ACO for his remarkable engagement and support to the ACO to improve patient quality outcomes. 

 

Besides a high tech micro-private practice, he is the core faculty at the Temecula Valley Hospital’s Family Medicine Residency Program and Program Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship.
